Happier

My oncology office called late this afternoon. I get my first new chemo treatment this Thursday. My son will drive me up and accompany me which will be of great comfort and support to me. He will "drive" nice if I don't feel good afterward and we are going out for a light breakfast together between the lab and the start.

I felt great relief just knowing that I am beginning my treatment. I am now waiting to hear from Chicago about brain mets and thier recommendations, but I am much happier as treatment will begin.

Barb, it is most definitely a relief to be doing "something" to actively fight. Gives you breathing room to wait for the rest of the plans to unfold.

Keeping you in my prayers, Barb.

Glad to hear that you are happy and getting the treatment you need.

Barb, I'm happy

that you are feeling much better and have a plan of attack. I'm also glad that you decided against the Ixempra for now. I just went to see one of my Oncs, who is taking me off of it as of today. I ended up getting fluids, steroids and anti nausea through my port. The Ixempra just didn't work at all and he said that that 10% number is pretty accurate.
What chemo are you starting now? They are going to possibly start Navelbine (again) with Herceptin and Cytoxin in a couple of weeks for me.
I was so pleased to log in today and see that you are feeling positive and will be staring treatment soon. That gives us all a reason to yell HOORAY! Let me know how you are doing and what chemo you'll be on. Sending you extra prayers and love today, Vickie

I wish I could choose NO - but I have to choose yes for tomorrow and go from there....then I will be home and very busy checking alternatives.

IT GETS BETTER FINALLY!

MEDICATION STARTED TODAY (Adriamycin) DOXORUBICIN AND TYKERB STARTING TOMORROW.

I think he must have done some research or whatever - the most important point was he worked on it with me etc.

Anyway, I have a much better outlook than I did.....

Once again I will be searching for data and research information and of course welcome any sent to me.

My brain surgeons assistant also called and said that he had contacted his friend - but wanted to be sure that I wasn't in too big a crisis which was very nice.

HAPPIER HAPPIER HAPPIER

AND HOPING IT WORKS WELL FOR ME!

Barb,

I'm so happy that you are feeling better and getting results and good input from your medical team.

You've worked so hard to come this far, and deserve the best treatment.

You're really a fighter and an inspiration.

Joan
