Could flying high and no sleep all night from yesterdays Decadron be the answer????? Wish I put all that energy to better use, or better yet, could bottle it and sell it!

Happy Birthday to all of the celebrants.

I am enjoying Sheila's posts. I check in every day to see
what she's up to now .... a woman on decadron should be
able to handle two husbands ....

Mary Anne in TX 02-18-2009 10:01 AM

I agree.....Sheila could handle about anything!!!! You make my days, Sheila! Whatever it is is delightful. I think it's great to be able to be silly and mixed up and wonderful. I used to think I should hide that goofy stuff. Now I think it makes us so real. ma

Jackie and Val....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Jackie07 02-19-2009 01:13 AM

On behalf of all the birthday guy(s) :) and gals, thank you, everyone.

Last night I called my parents in Taiwan where February 18 had already arrived (13 hours ahead of Central Time.)

We went to Golden Corral this afternoon - wonderful buffet. But it was $9.99 per person. Hubby forgoes his favorite tea because it would be another $1.99. Not that we couldn't afford the price, it's just that I still had in my memory (before Gamma-knife, breast cancers and chemos) an evening buffet priced at $6.95.

It was my In-law's favorite place whenever they came to town (for doctors' appointment and then shopping at Sam's and walking in the Mall or Wal-mart.) We were always invited and had shared numerous meals there with them. It was usually a late lunch buffet ($5.95 before 4pm) My In-laws would also get seniors' 10% discount. And the tea was always fresh...

After stuffing ourselves with fish, shrimp, roast beef,...we went to the local college's basketball games. The Women's team played first and we only caught a glimpse of the last 10 minutes. Our team won. Then it was the men's game. Ours was supposedly to be a little bit better than the opponent, but the guest team was able to suprise the home team with a 10-point lead in the first 10 minutes.

In the end, our home team lost by just 2 points. What a lesson! And what a game! Both teams played well. Many of the players have 'star'-like skills. We had a very good time. To top it off, because the home team broke 100 points, everyone in the gym got a free Chick-fil-le sanwich coupon as had been promised before the game. (We only paid $3.00 each for the ticket and was pleasantly surprised by the offer.)

After we got back home I listened to the messages in the answering machine. A junior high school classmate had called from Florida to wish me 'happy birthday'. I called him back and we had a nice chat. I was a tomboy (because of my 5'7'' frame)growing up. During high school years, I had spent numerous summer (and winter) breaks hanging out with 4 'guys' who were in my home room in junior high. We went to the movies, played ping-pong and basketball games. I was always reading the Chinese version of Reader's Digest while they played the Chinese domino (Ma-chong)...

He gave me his Yahoo e-mail and I got out our semi-new digital camera and took pictures of hubbie and me. I then e-mailed him the pictures. How wonderful is this modern technology!

You can see that I had a very, very happy birthday. Thank you again.

Happy birthday girls!!!!!

Marlys 02-24-2009 05:25 AM

I just can't resist! As Bill will tell you, I am a "know it all" and I just can't help but note that there is nothing in Sheila's post that would limit her to just 2 husbands. In fact, based on what I personally know about the behavior of nurses, I think it would be a safe bet that there may be multiples hovering in the wings to provide for her needs.
Love & hugs,
Marlys
P.S. Happy birthday to all youse guys!!!

PinkGirl 02-24-2009 07:10 AM

Hey Marlys
You're right ... we've been assuming she has two husbands but it
could be a multitude of them .... and she's on steroids. Wasn't it
Sassy who cleaned the algae off of a small lake when she was on
decadron?
