How to improve MUGA scan
Hi,
I was turned down for a vaccine study because my MUGA scan was not in the normal range. Mine is 48, on the drug Enalapril, and the lowest they would take is 50. My onc ordered a eco and I was hoping it would show a normal range. It didn't. I can't and don't want to get off Herceptin. If I could exercise and get some of this weight off maybe it would help. Would taking co-Q-10 help me? If so, how much do I take? Should I ask to see a cardiologist? Maybe a different heart drug would bring it up 2 points. I am a teacher so I am active all day. I am trying to increase my exercise and get some of this extra weight off. Any ideas? Thanks |
There have been studies that 400 mg of CoQ 10 per day improves heart function in some individuals. After an ok from your medical team, you could try it. Work up to taking 400mg per day by taking 50 mg for a couple of days then 100 mg for a couple of days etc. Search this board for info on Co Q 10 as there are alot of threads about it.
I used it during Herceptin and my heart function stayed above 50 the whole time. I don't know if it was just me or if the CoQ 10 helped me or not. |
