Knowledge and Advice

I am trying to get into a vaccine trial and my white blood count has to be 3000. Last blood draw two weeks ago it was 2600.

Everything looks good for me to get in, but they are waiting on my next blood draw.

Please, if anyone knows anything to bring my count up to this point let me know.

I have been walking and trying to eat healthy. Do I need to take any B vitamims to bring it up? I am taking 2000 units of Vitamin D a day, and 1260mg of Calcium.

Any advice or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

HI Amelia,

The mushroom extract and astragalus seemed to really help Ruth's white counts during chemo. I recommend them both!

There's probably several good ones out there; Ruth took Gaia Herbs liquid capsules of both.

Good Luck, and I would like to hear more about the vaccine trial process...

I would go with the mushrooms, astragalus and maybe a little echinecea. Fruits and vegetables also help the white blood count. I never had a neulasta or a procrit shots or any shots or transfusions for my blood counts in my entire life !! I kept my blood counts up with supplements and healthy eating. Good luck. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep going.

Hi school teacher
This contains reishi and astralagus extracts. Worked a treat for me to keep white bc up during chemo. Sip it several times a day.
Cheers

Thanks Elaine and Jackie,

Do I need to go to the health food store to get these items?

What kind of mushrooms?

Shitake, Reiishi and Maitake mushrooms are good. I don't know if there are Asian markets where you live, but you should be able to get them fresh or dried in Asian Markets. Safeway Supermarket has fresh shitake where I live. Health food stores usually have dried or fresh mushrooms and they will almost certainly have them in supplement form. If you get dried mushrooms you should soak them in warm water before you cook them.
