Strange pain

For the last 2 months I have had pain in my left hip at top where the hip begins. It started as a dull ache and progressed to the point in last 3 weeks that it doesn't go away. It hurts when I sit, walk, turn on that side at night in bed. I don't have pain any where else, just my hip.

I had some pain pills left that I have taken and they don't even take the pain away.

I did have a PET/CT Scan this past June and all was clear.

I do have an appt made to see my PCM Doctor on Jan.6. I didn't want to have to deal with Dr. appts during the holiday's.

I guess what I'm asking has any one here had this problem?

Hi Yorkiegirl,
You have had great follow up...from reading your signature, but have you had a bone density test?
Could be plain old arthritis or osteoarthritis. It is very common in the hip area. I would say that you should see your dr. as pain 24/7 should not be ignored. You may also be placing stress on your hip that you are not aware of.

Let us know what your dr. says.
Best Wishes,
Jean

Sounds exactly like the pain I have. Started in October and still going. I ran all Summer though and into the Fall when I was diagnosed. I thought maybe I had injured it that way. Do you do a lot of exercise?aybe you sprained it or pulled a muscle. I know how concerned you are though. I have felt the same and I haven't even started chemo yet. Every ache I get I get paranoid the disease has spread. If you are really concerned I would have it checked out , better than letting it upset you.

Take care,
Snufi

Yes, Jean I have had a Bone density test. What I failed to mention ( brain fog) I do have severe osteoporosis. I was Dx'd with that at the same time I was Dx'd with BC in 2005. My last T-score which was in February measured it being worse than the previous year. My spine T-score is -3.8 and my hip's -3.4. I do take Actonel monthly.

So this particular pain feels so much different than what I'm used to and this pain doesn't go away.

I do have a an appointment scheduled with Primary Care Doctor after the first of the year. I guess I will ask her to schedule a bone scan for me, since I haven't one since April 2005. I also have my every 3 month check -up with my Onc. in February. I did mention the pain at my last appointment with him ( Nov) but it went in one ear and out the other.
