Researchers at MD Anderson Cancer Center have identified two proteins that have a significant impact on survival in ovarian, lung, and breast cancers. The proteins, Dicer and Drosher, inactivate genes by RNA interference. High levels of the proteins were associated with a median survival of 11 years, while low levels of the proteins were associated with a median survival of 2.7 years.
