A Royal Free breast surgeon has won a prestigious healthcare innovation award with a state-of-the-art technique that uses light to detect cancer within seconds. Mr Mohammed Keshtgar, consultant surgical oncologist, has won a 2008 Medical Futures Cancer Innovation Award and been shortlisted in the category of overall winner of the award with his pioneering work in optical biopsy.
