Having a scan tomorrow

I am kind of nervous for tomorrow's PET/CT scan. This is my first scan after starting Tykerb with Herceptin. I lost weight since I started Tykerb, I am not sure of the cause. Please keep me in your warm thoughts.

Sending good thoughts about the scan...

Don't forget, Tykerb may have introduced some new digestive issues which might account for the weight loss. You might be eating much more carefully than pre-Tykerb.

Hi Julie, I've never had Tykerb but when I was doing "TCH" I lost 35 lbs. In fact in one wks time I lost 10 lbs & the nurse practioner was very concerned about it. I just smiled at her and told her to try TCH and get back to me. :)

There are other woman that have done TCH and it did NOT have that affect on them...they actually gained weight. So as you know our bodies respond differently to these drugs. If I remember right its Tykerb that most the women that have taken it have mentioned diarrhea. So between that and eating differently while on it would explain your weight loss. Try not to worry about that even though that's easier said then done.

I am sending you warm positive thoughts for good news on your scans. (Keeping you in my prayers too!)

Sending you positive, calming vibes your way.
Scan time is never easy, no matter how many times you've had to endure it -the fasting is a bummer (especially NO COFFEE in the a.m.), the contrast is awful, the effect of the contrast on the GI is gross & worst of all, the waiting for results is, at the very least, brutal.
In the face of all of that chaos, my ScanTime ritual includes spending the hour while the contrast is circulating, and those 23mins-"Eyes to Thighs"-in the machine, meditating & thinking about all the people & things that make me happy, make me laugh, make me feel loved & make me calm. It's like a running filmstrip of time w/my family, funny things my nieces say & do, encouraging words from friends & visualizing the beautiful beaches of hawaii. I often leave the scan feeling more Zen'd out than when I arrived & ready to finally enjoy a big cup of coffee.
May you rest well & rest easy tonight.
