Dear Kim -
Your post put a BIG smile on my face. I am SO happy for you.

Can't recall much about this trial and skin mets. Seems the skin mets is actually what you are still fighting, no?

You know what to expect from the first dose from posts here, as well as with subsequent doses - NED. Period.

Sending all positive thoughts and hope this will be your miracle drug.

Kim,

Glad to hear you got into the trial with no hiccups! I've been on a trial with the same dosing schedule since february. Like everything else it may not work for everyone but when it does, it's a really great therapy. I find it a bit tougher than plain Herceptin but well worth it and definitely better than chemo.

You may be interested to know, I went on the DM1 trial just after recurring on Tykerb/Avastin. I think of it as the Tykerb failing me, not the other way around...but it led me to the DM1 trial just as it was opening at UCSF. The point is, I was also a veteran of Herceptin and Tykerb and have had great response to the DM1.

If the protocols are anything like the trial I'm on, it could be very demanding in terms of follow up, scans, etc. If you have easy access to your trial location that won't be a problem.

Good luck on the trial!
