quick note
Last weekend I had this stomach flu. But the good part is I have never had such a mild case of the flu before! Now this week I have had this sore throat for the past couple of days. I wish it would clear up. I would not be surprise if it turns into a big ol runny nose!
This is just a insignifcant minor kind of thead. Please don't bother to post anyone!...really... Just a quick note to let you guys know what I have been up to. |
Harricanarie! I'm glad you had only a "mild" case of the flu. I hope you knock out that sore throat thing. I think it's circling the globe right now over the last 6 months or so. I hate to tell you, sweetie, but you are the "vector". You've carried it from California to Hawaii. Unless I fly to your house immediately, and quarantine you down on the beach, the whole island could be infected. I can stop this pandemic right now, with your help. Don't ask any questions, Harrie, just do what I say. I need a tent and a weeks worth of firewood on the beach, and a 10 foot surf-casting rod. (this virus that you have is horrible, but there is an anti-body in the liver of the Hawaiian Lip-fish that can ease your symptoms) Also, I need some roasted/barbecued boar meat. (your husband can provide this) After ingesting the roasted boarmeat under the Hawaiian moon, I will become immune to your illness, so that I can continue to fish for your cure while you bring me fresh bait. Please, don't think! Time is of the essence. The health of the whole planet is at stake! The only bait that the Lip-fish will take is steamed shrimp, slathered in cocktail sauce. I need 2 pounds of bait per night. Please hurry, Harrie! PM me your credit card number and SSN, and I can be there tomorrow. It's getting cold where I live now, but I'm just worrying about getting snowed in, that's all. Also, I need 9 cases of beer in case of infection from fishing wounds. If it helps you, I can give you directions now to your nearest beach. Get a pencil ready. "Go straight, and stop at the beach"

Wow..when the next pandemic hits, I'm hanging with Bill...makes it one big adventure;)

The beach is definitely the "go to" place!
this must mean that you will be the "picture of health" for the holidays!!!!!! Believin' ma |
Hi my friend! I am sorry to hear you are fighting the nasty flu...did you happen to have a flu shot this year?
Just curious.... I have found that when I have the start of any kind of sore throat issue....or my family...I take a glass of warm boiled water and add to it Hydrogen Peroxide and gargle every hour to wipe out that sore throat. This works especially well in the early stages of a sore throat most people wait until their throat really hurts. This will help to heal the infection. Try it - it works.... Feel Better, Hugs, Jean |
Hope you get to feeling better. I could use some beach time also for my vitamin D.

Harrie
How can you expect me not to reply to your thread?? I will take any opportunity to hear and reply to anything you have to say!! So.....hi, Harrie....hope you are feeling on the top of your game very soon!! Sending love>>Believe51

.......but Harrie....I WANT to post. I want to tell you to feel better soon and to keep those germies in Hawaii. Geez, I have all this snow and cold and you have warm weather and sunshine...I think it's only fair you keep the germs where you live.
Deal................... Mary Jo |
Flueneza (sp) report from rainy Oregon. The good news is that it is not raining, we have sunshine, I had a flu shot and the flu bug has not hit our house. If it hits, I will call Bill for his credit card, go online with Expedia and book 2 first class tickets to Hawaii. Then I will take a taxi to the beach and move into the tent that says HER2 Huilani. (Melekelkimaka, I do not know what Huliani means) Anyway, I am there in spirit. I have no idea how to catch a fish, let alone find its liver. Once I am on the beach, I will ask the locals and after a long conversation, I think all will be right with the world.
Mahlo and good night, thanks for the fun, Catherine |
You guys are a RIOT!!! LOL!!!!
Jean, I think the last flu shot I got was maybe 6 months ago or more? Must have worked because it was so mild!! Sore throat...much better already. I like to gargle with a bit of LIsterine. WB....good plans...guess that is why this place is considered such a healing place. I think we should add to this a nice massage on the beach to help prevent possible muscle aches. Oh yes.....and I think I would prefer some taquilla from my marguarita too keep that bactercial count down in my throat. Like they say...prevention is the best medicine!! BUT....if worse comes to worse, ....and things get REALLY out of hand, they just might quarantine all of us here for a verrrryyyy lonnnngggg time...if we are lucky!! |
PS...Catherine...."her2huilani"...that is funny!!
Hey maybe if we are all stuck over here we can rename our group: "wahine2support" since wahine means female and her means...well you get it??!! LOL!! I'm tired...going to beddy bye... Goodnight gang...love you!! |
Harrie, sorry to hear that you have been sick, but glad you are feeling better. I like the idea of renaming our little group Wahine2support, it would make us all feel a little tropical this cold winter season. We were actually planning a Hawaii trip before I had my reoccurence and since we couldn't do it at the time, we had a Hawaiian Christmas last year. We had a palm tree for our tree and many tropical decorations. We also played Hawaiian Christmas music. It was one of the nicest Christmases I ever had. So, all I can say now is Mele Kalikimaka.

WOW Bill
I am so grateful to have someone that would put himself in harms way to save the planet. And to do it single handedly, What a guy!! I can't believe the lengths you are going just to save us from the terrible pandemic, how on earth can we ever repay you??
|
Harrie,
I am so glad your flu was short lived. I hope your sore throat feels better real soon. Thanks for checking in :) |
Bill
Your bravery has got me motivated and I hate you are having to do this alone. If you could send me your credit card number I would be more than happy to bring several bottles of scotch for back up just in case the beer doesn't work. It too, might warm you up a bit faster than the beer, so you don't have to waste a single minute to start fishing for the lip fishies.
|
Maryanne,
I hope you're feeling better! Joan |
Woman of Steele...so you made a Hawaiian Christmas in NJ!? Your Christmas tree looks more tropical then some of ours over here with all the fake snow!
Well sure enough....my sore throat cleared up and now I have a little cough and maybe a runny nose. ( I say maybe cuz it was a little runny but now it isn't) hahhaahaha!! |
Harrie
Glad you are feeling better, I had the same thing, and I did get the flu shot...it is going around here like crazy! Believe it or not, the Electric Utility my husband works for here in IL, sent everyone a "kit" with prescription meds and all the necessary items in case there is an Avian Flu Pandemic....kinda scary that they are thinking that way....it contained 2 cases or antiviral wipes , thermometers, Relenza etc...everything but beer and fishing poles Bill! |
quick note
Glad to hear you are feeling better Harrie. Do like I do.
Blame all the sinus, cold, cough stuff on vog or the air conditioning in the doc's office. Sorry about that. I know you live on the Big Island. Hey, Bill. Don't get lost if you wander off on some deserted beach or take a walk in the mountains. That happens occassionally and they have to send helicopters up to find them. We don't want to see you on the news being rescued, although that would make interesting conversation here. |
had the sore throat and runny nose. couldn't talk for a couple days and that might not be a bad thing.
