Our dearest Lily is an Angel now

Michael,

I have no words to express the pain and sorrow that I feel knowing that our dearest Lily has left us for now. My deepest sympathy go to you and your dear family. Please know that we will always be here whenever you need us. My heart breaks for you. My latin sister will always be with us and deep in my heart.

Lilly, we will always love you, wherever you are.

Michael - I, too, have no words. Please know that we envelope you with love and support, and our heart is breaking with you and your family... she is now in the comforting arms of God, and I am thankful for that. Lily was such a bright contributor to our community! Her spunk and sense of humor always made my day, and she always posted with a touch of her sweet and endearing Equadorian "accent". (I don't know how you do that by typing a note on a computer, but she did and it was precious...)

Love and prayers to your family. This is just getting to be too much to bear... sigh.

Michael, This just breaks my heart as Lilly was such a special, unique and loving lady. She spent most of her time here to support other people. Always giving of herself. She truly is one in a million. She will be missed so much.

I feel so blessed to have known Lilly and she will always remain in my heart. God bless you Lilly, and just know we will never forget you. My deepest condolences to the entire family.

I can't imagine coming to our Her2 home and not finding notes from Lily here waiting. What a wonderful way with words and a spirit that lifted me up each time I read her messages. I'll miss her so very much. Love to all the family and to us here who will carry her in our hearts. ma

Dear Michael, I am so sad and mad. How can we loose our very special warrior, Lily? We could hear her speak in her posts. I always felt, reading them, that she was sending me sun.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Dear Maria. I loved her so and the gap in my daily life will be enormously empty without our frequent talks. I know that she called my husband a "Monster" and maybe you did not understand her logic about that. A "Monster" as Lily said, "Was a person in combat, fighting back this disease with fortitude and determination. All while setting goals and dreams of NED. Along the way receiving blessings and reaching NED. Achieving a plateau which with to rest as the 'cure' catches up! A person whom 'Believes' and never gives up, who fights for the very last second of life. A being that knows no limits and sets examples of courage, faith and bavery. A person who inspires hope and love to flourish."

Funny, this appears to reflect how I always viewed her. She never considered herself a "Monster", she felt that she had not achieved NED (for long anyway) and that was part of the so talked about 'Monstership'. She was my Monster, she was my hero, she was my very sweet friend. Although she touched my life with such power, she just considered herself as average. My world is a little sad right now for me, for Ed, for her family at Her2 and I pray for us all to move on with a smile. Lily prayed for us all, especially those that had journey left in God's hands.

I pray for you Michael, I pray for those gorgeous children and her family who moved to the United States to be by her side. The road has been tough for you all for so long. May God walk besides you all as you move forward through this loss.

And Lily, maybe you never achieved NED (for long).....but you shall always remain My Special Monster. I shall hear that accent ring true in my ears and mind whenever I think of you. You will always be alive in my heart and soul.

Forever and Ever,
Marie (Believe51)
&
Ed (The Mighty Oak)

Michael and Family

I add my sympathy along with everyone else on the board. As I said before, Lily was a breath of fresh air and contributed so very much. At her core she was genuinely a sweet soul and will be greatly missed.

I'm so sorry to hear this :(
It seems like almost every time I log in another person has lost the battle to this damn disease :(

My heart and prayers go out to her family. :(

chrisy 11-11-2008 11:44 AM

Michael, I join with all Lily's other sisters and brothers here at Her2support in wrapping you and your family in love and prayers right now. Lily was very special to me, she was always so encouraging and cheering me (all of us, really) on. From the start, I was awed by the "monsterness" of her fight to beat this disease. I will never forget her.
