tykerb/gemzar
 

I just got my PET scan results. The large mass between my intestines is finally gone. Now I have 3 new spots on my liver and a spot on my spine. I am having radiation on my spine and then I will start tykerb/gemzar. Just wondering if anyone else is on this combo and how tolerable is the gemzar. I was on tykerb with xeloda about a year ago. It was pretty rough on me. I'm hoping this new combo won't be so bad. I won't be taking 5 tykerb. I think the doctor said I will start with 2 maybe 3 pills a day and go from there. Any info would be great. I was praying my one spot would be gone and it is. But now 4 more. At least they are small. I'll keep you posted after I start treatment. Well, it is good news that the larger mass is now gone. Hoping your new combo gets rid of the rest. Keeping you in my prayers.

Both Chrisy and Brenda have had treatment with Tykerb...I don't think the Gemzar with it, but bumping this up for you to get replies. It sounds like one mass down, a few more spots to go...and that is encouraging!

I am on Gemzar Tykerb, with my 3rd one completed. I am extremely curious how it's going to go, because I have had lots of aches with this round. Usually that is a good sign for me. When the cancer dies, it tends to hurt like the dickens. So I am hoping...
