Surgery on arm of lumectomy side?

Has anyone ever had any sort of surgery or procedure done on arm that's the same side of lumpectomy or mastectomy. I am having terrible pain in my wrist and right arm (surgery side) and I had one doctor say it was probably corpal tunnel syndrom . He said I may need surgery in my wrist which would be a very simple incision to relieve pressure. I am worried about lymphodema and thought that any sort of cutting or surgery would be out of the question. But now I am considering because my arm and wrist is radiating so badly. Anyone ever had anything done and it come out OK with no problems..sherryg683

Lymphodema

Hi Sherry:

I have had problems ever since I had the Lymph nodes removal in 1994.

I have asked my doctor about surgery or injections on the arm that I got the surgery and he's always expressed concerns about using it for anything; even to draw blood.

I would not do surgery if I were you. The only advice I can give you, is to first try accupuncture.

It has worked for me for pain control. I'm right handed and have experienced pain for the last 15 years due to clerical work I have done for the last 32 years.

Other suggestion is to ask your oncologist or surgeon before making a decision.

Good luck. Please keep us posted.

P.S. What a great picture!

Love,
