Bayer (now Siemens) HER2 serum test?

Saw this posted on another post. Where some are having it done occaisionally. What exactly is this and what does it tell? I'm not sure if I've had this done or should be getting it done. Is this the test where they initially tell if you are HER2+, and if so, why would we need it repeated...tks... sherryg683

Sherry, Here is a great link Joe posted a while ago that will explain the Her2 serum test that is really easy to understand. It's the "Siemens" website...once there check out "Why Serum Her2 neu" & "FAQ".

I know our Dear Kate that passed away used this test and it worked great for her. I know of several other woman that swear by it too. You should ask your oncologist about it...he might be willing to use it. I think its another great tool that should be used.
