New targeted treatment promising in breast cancer
NEW YORK - An novel investigational chemotherapy regimen targeting both a mutated protein called p53 and tumor blood vessels "has complementary and potent antitumor activity and could define a new strategy for suppression of advanced breast cancers," Dr. Yayun Liang reported at the Department of Defense's annual Era of Hope breast cancer meeting that just wrapped in Baltimore, Maryland.

I spoke with my hospital's pathogist recently who was the doctor who signed off of my path report in 2006. I had a normal P53 result. The pathologist told me that the P53 (gene?) tends to be normal in the Her2 positive population.
