I'm Healthy

Happy to report that CAT scan of head shows I have a brain -- a healthy one -- and my echocardiogram shows a good ejection fraction and a healthy heart in general. I am one of the people who had to stop Herceptin early due to drop in MUGA score. For you A/C girls, the cardiologist told me that, in his experience, heart damage from A/C shows up soon after treatment. I asked him about reports that damage can show up years later. He believes that, in those cases, damage was already there and the person wasn't well monitored. I am glad that the trend is away from A/C for breast cancer treatment.

Great news, MJo, thanks for sharing.

Your doctor is right. I had mitral valve prolapse - probably since childhood. But it wasn't diagnosed until I was 30 when I had my first brain surgery.

My 6 session chemo back in 2003 went O.K. because they replaced AC with FEC. But the TCH treatment last year was not kind to me - mainly Herceptin. I am hoping that I can get my heart function up by exercising.

Good News!

Hi MJo,

So, it's not any kind of brain or heart anomaly this "forgetful" thing - we have to go back to the original "absent minded genius" theory. Just go out and get one of those new brain fitness programs and dive in! I'm doing it and at the very least it's alot of fun!

Have a great day!

Donna

Hey Smiley

Great news to celebrate. I cannot wait until Ed gets home so I can blab this information to him. He follows us all here and gets just as elated with good news as we all do!! Oh what a relief this must be. Rejoice Mjo as this is very well deserved. Lots of love and smiling back at 'cha!!>>Believe51
