Final Herceptin Tomorrow...

Wow, two in one week! Today, Caya and tomorrow, me! I will take a picture of me in my little crown and put it up as my new avatar!

I thought that I would be going until 5/23 (my birthday--what a present that would have been), but he told me on my last visit, that he only wanted me to do one more. So, I have conflicting feelings on the final one! I will be so glad to not have to be poked (no port), but will not have the luxury of giving him my list of complaints, worries, and question him on current research (LOL). I have no idea what my follow-up schedule is after this, so we shall see.

Funny that Bill mentioned Pearl Jam--that is my "finish treatment" present! We are going to see PJ in SC in June. I was just out of high school when they first came out, and have never been to see them in concert. I am probably too old to jump around, but I decided that this year (and every year here on out), I would do (at least) on thing that I had always wanted, but never did. Anyone know where I can get my Screen Actor's Guild Card? LOLLOLLOL

Have a wonderful day,

congratulations, It is very easy to be an extra on a tv show or movie in Wilmington NC. I did it a few times while on vacation. (Dawson's Creek) I am going to go hand gliding this summer, maybe then sky diving. I have also never seen the Grand Canyon. My biggest adventure and challenge is to meet U2. I love music too. Everyday my "things I'm going to do list" gets bigger. Congrats on the next chapter in your life!!!!!!

Congratulations on finishing Herceptin. Have fun at the concert and in South Carolina. My family has vacationed in the Carolinas for about 35 years. Although I was born in VA and raised in Ohio, it feels like home when I'm in the Carolinas. Have a great birthday, concert and trip. It's so nice to have good things to look forward to, isn't it?

Congratulations....don't you just feel as though you have graduated or something....you have...now on to a more normal life!!!!

Well Krista, congratulations! Another herceptin graduate. I think it is a better birthday present to NOT be going to get an infusion!

As for keeping your oncologist on his toes, perhaps you should just make the occasional appointment and in the interim accumulate all your questions and advice. You will definitely have a follow up schedule, so he'd better watch out!

On the other hand, it might be an even better use of your time thinking about how you will celebrate for the next 50 years!

Congratulations.

Krista,
Congratulations! When first starting herceptin - the year sounds so very long....then comes this day!

So happy for you - and YES - you have earned your crown, wear it with pride.

Hugs,
jean

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am going to take absolutely nothing to do, and just "enjoy" the final one. Here's to hoping that I NEVER, EVER, EVER have to visit that room again. :)

Take care,

caya 05-08-2008 04:58 PM

Amen to that thought of never having to visit the chemo room again Krista.

Good luck tomorrow from your fellow Herceptin May '08 graduate - wear your crown proudly and smile.

all the best
caya

Yippee kai yea! It will be weird at first but then you will appreciate it so much.

You are a survivor from the first moment of discovery but really feel like a survivor once you are done with active treatment.
