Brian MRI with or without contrast

When you have one done is it with or without contrast? Ceesun

Ceesun, I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure with an MRI, you don't need the contrast dye. It's a different type of scan than the cat scan. I hope I'm right and if not, hopefully, I will be corrected. Bill

You should always have an MRI (especially brain) with and without contrast. First they will scan without and then with. That is the way they get a good read.

I also get mine without, then they inject the dye for round 2....I have always had both!
