?Question
Hello,
I had an angiogram CT yesterday to look at my obdominal blood vessels for my upcoming reconstruction. I was pre-treated with prednisone because after a regular CT scan with contrast dye, I had in the fall, I had a little redness and small hives the evening of the CT. So, this time was pretreated with 50 mg of prednisone to be taken 3 times before the CT. 50 mg. 13 hours before, 50 mg. 7 hours before and 50 mg. 1 hour before. All went well but by evening I had a very red, hot face and red chest. That's all. I woke up this morning still with a red, somewhat swollen face. Do you think this is from the dye or from the prednisone. I am going in for medical allergy testing before my DIEP procedure because since chemo I do seem to have some issues with some antibiotics, contrast dye and who knows what else. Just wondering if any of you have had this happen. Mary Jo |

Hard to tell, the contrast dye can cause flushing, but it usually is only temporary, the steroids can absolutely cause flushing....I look like I have a sunburn the day after my Taxol, from the steroids...and it lasts 1 day....it feels Hot...so if there is no itching or rash, I wouldn't worry, I'd chalk it up to the steroids. |
