Today is a gift
I have not posted lately due to my grandaughters surgery and some chemo related health issues i am having. Yes Bill, I am ready for spring!!!!
In the past couple weeks here in Illinois, 30 miles away, 5 women were shot at Lane Bryant clothing store, then yesterday, 30 miles away, 6 students and the gunman killed at NIU with scores of students still hospitalized.....what a true reminder that none of us know what life holds in store for us, or how life changes in an instant. It is in times like these that I realize what a gift life is, something to be cherished and enjoyed, never taken for granted. In the past couple weeks, the struggles in my own personal life pale to what these families are going through. My prayers to all who are affected by these recent tragedies. |
Yes, Sheila. It is so scary. My daughter came home from Eastern Michigan University yesterday, ill, so we were off to the doctor. I felt so uncomfortable about sending her back to college. Ceesun

You are right Sheila, everyday is a day to be cherished.

Each day IS a gift
At the hall where the shooting took place there are two lecture halls. My nephew teaches history in one of them. His class finished and he left campus 15 minutes before the shooting. My heart breaks for everyone involved in this senseless shooting. It also breaks for the shooter's family. No one raises their children to do this.

Shelia,
You are so right. Life turns on a dime. I am reflecting on my blessings this morning. Thanks for the reminder. Hugs Tonya |
Shiela,
I Remember when I heard the news about the mall incident. Did not know it was that close to you. One has to stop and remember the world goes insane at times. Also, since we fight this nasty disease we are always thoughtful about how precious each day is, thank you for remining us that everyone (those not afflicated with bc) never knows what could /or/ would happen next that would take away their life. Each day is truly a gift. Make it count. Shiela, glad your feeling better and it is behind you. Stay well dear friend. Hugs, jean |
Sheila, you are so right, Life can and often does change in an instant. My heart goes out to everyone affected by those horrible shootings. We really do need to cherish and be thankful for the time that we have, and try to spread kindness whenever we can, even in little things. Peace and comfort to all, Bill

Shelia,
Nice to hear from you! I agree--while I have a lot of "why me", "poor me", "pissed off me", I KNOW that everyone else in the world has some sort of grief, tragedy, or struggle. There are millions of people "worse off" than me, so even with all the worrying about health, finances, my son, my store, etc., I try to keep that tiny little thought in there somewhere. Have a great weekend, |
