Please pray
I just wish that we could get a break :( this is all just so much to deal with.
My mum has not gotten over her infection :( she is still intubated and on the vent and it does not appear that she is going to recover from this :( She has been intubated for almost a month, they normally want you off after 14days. She was doing so well and then this stipid infection came :( The oncologist can not and will not treat her unless something drastic happens to improve her as chemo will kill her. It is a no win situation as why we are treating the infection and not the cancer the cancer is spreading So we are facing serious tough decisions in the next few days as my mum is requiring more and more oxygen. We have talked with the pallitave care team and they explained that she can not go home as she is requiring to much oxygen 85% they explained what would happen to her when/if we remove the tube. We just dont want to have to make that decision. It is all so unfair. Please pray that she is in no pain and that whatever we decide and whatever happens is for the best. Love Nicola |
You can count on my prayers...
Continued prayers for not only mum, but for the family and friends whom love her. I cannot imagine what you are feeling, I have never had to make such a tough decision. May she be without that pain and torment you describe. I shall pray for you to find comfort no matter what the decision is. Love and prayers>>Believe51

So sorry
I'm so sorry you are going thru this. I was in a similar situation with my mom. Her heart was only at a 12% efraction after stopping completely in a department store. Dr's claimed she wouldn't make it and wouldn't even say if she would live a day or a week. Well, she ended up making fools of them with her strong will. She lived happily another 2yrs before of all things cancer invaded her and they could do nothing for her. Hold on to your mum and never give up, enjoy every minute with her, holding her hand and talk and kiss her often. I'm thinking and praying for you, your family and friends thru this very difficult time...

Dear Nicola,
I am very sad to hear your news of your Mother. Please know that you are doing everything possible for her and she knows that. I will keep her and you in my prayers. Jean |
Dear Nicola,
I am praying for your mom take care my dear. |
Nicola,
I am sorry this is so late. I am having computer problems, very slow on our site. I tried several hours ago to get a message to you but was unsuccessful. First, thank you for keeping us informed about your Mum during this very difficult time for you and your family. Many of us have been thinking and praying for you. I am so sorry to hear your Mum, you and your family are struggling with such issues. I can't even imagine what you are all going through. But one thing stands out, the love you have for your Mum. Please remember Cat's reply. I hope the same for you. I will pray for what is best for your Mum and that she is not in pain. May God provide you all with comfort and wrap you in His arms of love. I am a mom, too
Nicola,
I just want to remind you that what "moms" wish for is all good things for their kids. Your mom wants YOU to be okay so take good care of yourself while taking care of her. I know you must be going through a time when everything seems surreal and frightening. None of us are really prepared for these moments in life. I hope it is comforting to know that you have us here on the board sending prayers to you and your mom. Your mom will always be a part of you, in your heart, as you will always be a part of her. Love transcends. I believe that 100%. --Flori |
Nicola, I did have one friend recover from pnuemonia after being on the ventilator a couple of weeks. She was not given a good prognosis for recovery although they said it was possible. She didn't have cancer though.
I imagine they are keeping mum sedated, so she's not feeling pain. I guess you need to make decisions on your schedule not theirs. I'm sorry this is happening. I'm praying for your mom to recover and for your family to find comfort and strength in the future. Best wishes, Bev |
