recurrence in muscle near breast?

Just wondering if anyone has had a recurrence in muscle. A CT scan showed what orig. was thought to be scar tissue near the orig. lumpectomy site, but a ultra-sound shows two shadows and now they are thought to be a recurrence. I go in for biopsy next week, but am pretty nervous. First I was told that it looked like a local recurrence, now it's being called a regional recurrence.
Thank you

Sue

I can't offer any advise on whether what you have is a recurrence (local or regional). All I can do is offer prayers that when you have the biopsy next week that it just turns out to be scar tissue. Best of luck to you.

What did they find?

Hello Sueb1 -

I am interested in your "problem" as it sounds like may be similar to mine. I had PET uptake in an area above my lumpectomy breast, but they are not sure what this is - says "consistent with exercise," but I did not exercise prior to my test, as the instructions are NOT to exercise the 24 hours prior to the scan.

What kind of biopsy did they do?

Sueb1, the biopsy will tell the tale, and hopefully it's a benign one. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.

Praying your biopsy results are benign.

Sueb1 - my first recurrence was found when we did a day surgery to remove scar tissue from around my implant. At that time a small tumor came off with the scar tissue from the muscle under my implant. We then found 3 small lung mets and a new positive underarm node. Since then I am just NED from my third recurrence...

The biopsy results came back benign!!

Thank you so much for your responses. The results came back and I am happy to report that the shadow near the scar was scar tissue and the other one near the muscle disappeared after it was poked a couple of times. I'm not sure what that means, but I'm happy to hear the word "benign" . I was told that I need to come back for a PET in 3 months because they are concerned that my tumor markers were up.
Wishing everyone a HEALTHY and HAPPY HOLIDAY.
