HELP! Spotting with Femara and Eligard (Lupron) shot!!
 

Hi Ladies,
First off let me tell you I can't do Tamoxifen because I am on Paxil. We tried taking me off of Paxil, all I can say is I NEVER want to go there again!
I am 43 yrs old, sent into menopause from chemo. I started Femara and the Eligard shot 2 weeks ago. Thursday I noticed spotting, I contacted Onc he contributed it to the ovary supression shot, said to give it time. If it gets worse to call back. Well I am still spotting and it isn't getting worse, just worried of what is happening.
Has anyone had this happen? Does it get better? Is it normal? Please ANY advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Sue;

It's fairly normal to spot when you first start lupron or zoladex as your uterus thins dramatically due to the lack of estrogen. Same thing happened to me and I was panicked at first that it wasn't working. They checked my estrodiol levels just to be sure but it came back low. The GYN and Onc said it's normal to spot as the uterus thins.

Thank you so much for replying! You have helped my nerves for sure! I appreciate it so much. I will know more next week when I see Onc and have levels checked. I am hoping and praying this works for me, safely.
