Book about the making of Herceptin
Hi all
I know this is a nine year old book and many of you have read it and talked about it on this site. I read several posts in 2005 and 2006. I am now reading it and find it very interesting as we are now almost to 2008. It is just amazing all they had to do to get Herceptin to us. I thought maybe others might not know about this book and would like to read it. The Making of Herceptin by Robert Bazell. As I was looking at past posts, Joe mentioned a lady from the book that had been on Herceptin nine years. I was wondering how she is, if anyone knew about Ginger or Barbara? This book made me mad, glad, sad, etc. I wonder if there are other books you have read that we all might find interesting about Her2. Thanks and have a good night and stay cool. patb |
Since you are reading it right now, what cosmetics company contributed a lot to the funding for herceptin? I cannot remember and I am a firm believer for rewarding companies that make a difference. Plus I love makeup.

Ginger holds the record for being on Herceptin the longest...she was in San Antonio with us last year at the BC Symposium...she is a lovely lady! It was an honor to meet her. |
This is a good book, I read it last year.
As for the cosmetic company it was Revlon. |

Barbara Bradfield is still doing great and now lives in Oregon. Ginger has completed 12 years of Herceptin and is still on the go. You can read their updated stories and others by going to the "Community" Section of this website: http://her2support.org/index.php?opt...d=57&Itemid=80 Ginger and an old friend at San Antonio December 2005 |
