Can Anyone Tell Me......
1)is it ok to take flax oil if you are ER+?
2)what is the best time of day to take Arimidex and should it be before, with or after food? 3) for any Brits in the group ( I am in Glasgow) do you know of a Her2 support group in the UK? These girls in the States are so much more knowledgable than us (me). I would like to compare treatments in our country. Thanks in advance for the answers..you have been great inthe past.. Nancy |
Hey Nancy from a fellow Scot. I now live in Florida ,but was born and raised in Montrose. My oncologist has me take my Arimidex at bedtime and it works out well for me. I don't know of any support groups in the UK, but maybe some of the other ladies can help you out, they are so full of information. Hope things go well for you,Hugs and Blessings ,Jeanette

If you check out using the search facility there is a heap of information on flax and flax oil. (click on search and enter flax, flax seed, flaxseed etc) There is a lot of discussion about flax seed and oil. The best thing to do is print out some of the info and discussions with your advisor. Flax is high in omega three. Many see omega threes as assisting. (see posts on omega three and six) Flax seed also contains lignans. Most oils do not contain the lignans but some do. Some researches say that the lignans in flax assist. I have previously posted some material on this. Others are cautious. I hope this helps RB |
I am er/pr+ and was told by my oncologist to stay away from flax seed and the oil (I think some docs think it is ok to take the oil?). I was also told to stay away from all soy products. I take a very pure fish oil which is high in omega 3 and also has the EPA-DHA.

hello Nancy, seeing your post made me register here - I used to live in Fort William, now in Plymouth. Yes I think they are much beter advocates for themselves in USA than here, I guess the reason is different healthcare systems and national character. :) For example, tykerb is not a registered drug here in UK .

I am ER+ and use flax seed ground (about 2X per week) and oil sometimes too. I also use soy (tofu) if I go to my daughter's to eat (she is a strict vegetarian). Having these products every so often is not bad. Its over doing or taking supplements (and overdoing it) that can be a big problem.
No one told me when to take Arimidex but I take it at night. |
