Update on Please advise, time is running out
Thank you to all who took time to answer my post. I so appreciate your ideas and prayers concerning Pat. The Doctors have given her about a month to live. They tried to put a tube in her small bowel to help her eat but tumors were growing there. She is too sick to travel and too ill for any trials. To be honest I think she believes that her quality of life is not worth the pain and suffering that she is going through. I have heard her say this a few times lately. It is easy for me to say that we will go anywhere and she will take any drug but the truth is that I am not the one dealing with the physical pain.
At this time the onc has started doxirubicin and herceptin and we will pray for a miracle . Thank you all for allowing me to share my feelings on this wonderful site. You all have a special place in my heart. Sincerely, Donna in Birmingham, Alabama |
Don't know anything to say to you except that you will both be in my prayers. I have my fingers crossed for you as well.

Donna,
I am praying, too and I do believe in miracles. Hugs, karen |
Donna, it is not too late for Pat yet. The treatment may work and give her a turnaround.
In Jan 2003 I was given 2 months to live. My liver was shutting down, it was covered in tumors, I was jaundiced, my skin was yellow, even the whites of my eyes were yellow. I was weak, and losing weight rapidly....20 pounds in 2 months. My onc started me on Herceptin, Navelbine and Xeloda, and said if it did not work, there was not likely time to try anything else. My church annointed me, I was looking pretty close to passing on. The treatment worked, and within a year I was back snow skiing 30 days a year, water-skiing, rock climbing and traveling. I'm still hanging in there and currently showing no evidence of disease. Please keep us posted on how Pat does with her treatment. And remember, there's always hope! |
Donna, my heart just breaks reading your post. However, Esther is my new inspiration... I never knew about your miracle, Esther. Wow. No one can guarantee you a miracle, but why not try? (a quote from my nutritional doctor)

Donna,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and Pat. As Esther has experienced a miracle, why not your friend. hugs and love sarah |
Hi Donna!
Thank you so much for the update on Pat! This board will rarely allow room for anything but a miracle in it's thoughts! I am grateful for that! I'll be praying and believing for Pat's miracle with you! My heart breaks for you both and the pain that Pat is in. God bless you. ma |
There are no words to make your journey any easier. My prayers are with you and your partner. I am a strong believer in miracles too and know that sometimes they come in painful packages. You have found new friends here!

Sending prayers for healing your way and like someone else said "Esther is my inspiration" I, too, did not know that about you Esther and that just goes to show who is ultimately in charge here. God wasn't finished with you yet and here you are spreading the good news. Awesome!
May God's Peace surround you today, Mary Jo |

Please do not give up heart. Look to these girls for some inspiration. BELIEVE. Esther is a mighty fine example of beating the odds that someone else place on her lap. There are good statistics and Pat could be the next. Think as positive as you can at this very hard time in both of your lives.
My husband and I will pray for you both to have the peace you deserve. Stay strong. Lots of prayers and love going out to you. Waiting For A Miracle...and expecting one soon (how's that for positive?)....>Believe51 PS Believe in Miracles, I have seen too many not to!!! |
