3 week herceptin finally/work

Well after months of asking and an okay MUGA (55) I was able to switch to a 3 week Herceptin instead of a 1 week. I had the first 3 week dose Tuesday and am feeling no different. Usually I have shortness of breath for 2 days and legs cramps on Fridays and a little acid reflux. I hope things stay to same as with the weekly dose. It has been hard trying to balance my treatment, work, and family responsibilites.

I have not posted awhile because I have been working a lot. I was excited to get back to work before but now I am dreading everyday. I have been working 50-55 hours a week with no relief in sight. I think it is time to find a new job. After all I have been through I want to enjoy my life and not spending it working. I am the sole support for my husband and myself (he is mentally disabled) and enjoy the lifestyle I have made for ourselves but this job is taking away my life. I am the general manager of a retail clothing store. I just don't know what else I can do and make the same amount of money. Retail sucks the life out of you. I have thought about pharmaceutical sales before. Anyone have a in at Genetech or Glaxo? I'm not sure anything else would be better but I think I am ready for a change. If I have to work (which I do) I should enjoy it.

Laurie,
congratulations on your switch to the 3 week program. For me it was like having a 2 week vacation! Sounds like you are overwhelming yourself on the work side, tho. Retail does suck the life out of you, but make sure you take care of yourself. Since you now will have and extra 2 hours 2 out of every 3 weeks, try to reclaim that time for yourself to relax!

I had no problems with the 3 week dose.
