New drug will be approved in October!!!
 

I just sign off from breasctcancer.org and there is a posting regarding a new chemotherapy drug by Bayer which has been giving priority review in order to expedite the approval,the name is IXABEPILONE. No more info was provided.

I heard Dr. Edith Perez speak about trials of this drug at San Antonio. Here is a link with some more info on one of the trials. Sounds promising - another arrow in the quiver!

This is another taxane drug, but is being used in patients who are taxane reisitant (ie. abraxane, taxol, taxotere, etc). If taxanes drugs have not worked for you, this may be the drug of choice soon. They are in phase II trials, which many of you may be able to get into. I'm on my second treatment with navelbine+herceptin, does it mean that I am a candidate for this new drug,?? providing that this combo does no longer work for me..well maybe I wait and try other taxanes rather than sign up for a trial. what do you think?. I read that it causes minimun nause and vomiting, i like that..
