Hey Jackie -Thanks for coming back to let us know that you are hanging in there tumor-free for so long. Your news is one more reminder that we can live with stage IV and do quite well for long periods of time. It is definitely easier looking at things from this end of the road!

Assume you are maintaining on Herceptin.

Keep up the great reports. Are you doing any special diet or supplements??

suzan w 06-05-2007 02:11 PM

Steph's question

In answer to your question Steph I take the following:

20 ml flax oil most days with 100 ml skim milk (Budwig)
3-5 double strength fish oil capsules
150-200 mg Q10 (more than 200 mg stops me sleeping) daily
K, Mg, multi B,
Iodine and Selenium sometimes
oilve leaf extract 5 ml most days
reishi mushroom extract (have a break sometimes)
natural progesterone cream (rub on skin)

diet: Cranberry and red grape juice often, carrot/apple juice sometimes
flax muffin containing 25 grams of flaxseed meal 6 days a week
little red meat
dark chocolate daily
EAT NO FOODS WITH VEGETABLE OIL/FAT/SHORTENING ON LABLES UNLESS OLIVE OR CANOLA OIL.

trying to max my omega 3/6 ratio and do things that have been shown to work.

Cheers
Jackie

supplements

Thank-you Jackie for sharing this, and bravo on your NED status!

Questions What is Budwig? Is milk important for flax seed absorbtion?

Are these things taken with food or without?

Is olive leaf extract better than taking olive oil straight?

Were you ER or PR +?? I've also read Dr. Lee. Do you have an opinion about the role of progesterone, particularly in a PR+ tumor?

20 ml flax oil most days with 100 ml skim milk (Budwig)

Did you do chemo with this regime, and which one? Do you know if supplements would affect one chemo more than another, i.e. TCH or AC?

THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU.
