Herceptin frequency - anyone do every 2 weeks?

Hi gals,

Right now I'm doing Taxol and Herceptin weekly and I really like doing it weekly. After my 12 weeks, I'm supposed to move to every three weeks for the Herceptin. I'm concerned I'll be getting 3 times as much drug. Has anyone done every two weeks with 2 times as much drug? That would be the same as my initial loading dose. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much.

Hello,

I did NOT do herceptin every 2 weeks. I did taxol every 2 weeks. My first taxol treatment is when I had my loading dose (first treatment) of herceptin. I then received the herceptin every 3 weeks and taxol every 2. Occasionally, (I think twice) the herceptin and taxol fell on the same day. I had absolutely no problems receiving herceptin every 3 weeks and actually enjoyed receiving it that way. I have to travel a little more than an hour to my treatment facility and doing that every 3 weeks was plenty.

Hugs to you,

Mary Jo

I did Herceptin every 3 weeks, but sometimes for my personal scheduling reasons, did a 2 week interval. I think either one would be fine - if you can tolerate the 3 week dose, it gives you more time to forget about infusions!

HI ALL

I do Herceptin every two weeks and always have. My oncologist said this
is great. I get twice the dose of one week and get it over an hour drip.
This gives me more free time rather than every week. They won't do three
weeks unless a trip is planned. I have done well on herceptin with no
side effects.
