Forgot to ask you all
Anyone having hearing problems from the Herceptin?? The chemo nurses I deal with and the Cancer Society has planted this question in our heads. I have noticed that my poor husband is more deaf than ever and they all believe it is the Hercetin. (We rarely ever have fought since we met and I always tease him that it is pointless, he cannot hear me anyway!!Ha, ha) In all seriousness, I feel so bad for the life he fails to hear, but he is still here!!! I had to laugh...my husband always tells me he's going to get me a hearing aid....funny though, he is the only one I have trouble hearing...and so does everyone he talks to...he talks very soft and fast....when ever he tells me I'm deaf, I respond, no I'm not, I'm just not listening!!!! |
Marie,
My husband tells me all the time that I have selective hearing. |
Marie,
I had no hearing problems until bc treatment. I did not have chemo, but started Herceptin with my radiation treatments last August. On Oct 1, I added Femara. By mid-November, I had terrible tinnitus. I tend to blame the tinnitus on the hormonal treatment, as I have done some research on it and hormones (estrogen) can affect hearing. I changed to Arimidex in Dec., and the tinnitus got somewhat better, but I still have it. I don't know if it is related to the combination of Herceptin with the AI or just the AI. I am looking forward to concluding my year of Herceptin to see if that will improve the condition any. Best of luck to you and your husband, Hopeful |
