One Year
 

Today is my 42nd birthday and One year NED!!!! Yahoo, I was celebrating both occassions tonight with my family and friends. Everyone who came to visit seemed to have a bottle of champagne. One year ago today, I was in hospital after having my surgery, still not understanding any of this. Now one year later and much more informed. How things change! I just want to thank each and every one of you on this site, you and this site were my godsend when I didn't know where to turn or what questions to ask. I thank you.

Dawn, Big Congratulations on being one year out already and on your way to many many more! Also Happy Birthday to you! I hope it was all you expected and more. I rememer when you first posted last year because your DX was so close to mine. I know so well how you must of been feeling. Yet here we are a year later and doing great. Here's to years of dancing with NED. (Did you save us some cake?) :)

Thank you guys all so much, I had a wonderful weekend. My oldest sister showed up with a birthday cake to surprise me, so the "Haire" sisters went to a local bar to celebrate. Of course, it was in full swing being St. Paddy's Day. My younger sister had a song played for my birthday, just as they finished announcing it, my one and only brother shoed up and walked out to have the dance with me. Another suprise, as I didn't know he would be home either. So out of four siblings, three managed to get here to help me celebrate. One thing I learned in the last year, was how important family and friends are to get you through times like this. My husband must have been very busy this week arranging everything and keeping it quiet too!!! I'm going to keep a positive attitude for the next year, a try to live my life as normal as possible. Starting with my cruise in May.

As great as my family and friends are, this site and everyone in it has helped me calm that raging beast, breath better and have a good nights sleep, when everything felt like it was falling apart. Someone always made me see I wasn't the only one. Chelee, I remember you posting to one of my early posts, when I was having an extremely hard time coming to grips with everything. Janis(fitztwins) was another one at the same time who helped me breathe again. Different times throughout the year many of you have helped me. Christine and Joe thank you so much for this site. You guys must be amazing for everything you do.
