Clinical trial on BC women and walking

Hi Friends,

In the "Los Angeles Times" Health Section today, 3.12.7, there was a long article on the benefits of walking. The reporter (Regina Nuzzo) mentioned a few high-profile studies that focus on walking and specific diseases. Under cancer, they mentioned that "scientists are planning a clinical trial to test a moderate-intensity physical activity program for breast cancer survivors."

If anyone knows about this clinical trial, I would love to hear more about it.

Thanks,

Vicki Z in Calif.

Let me know what you hear. I walk about 30 miles a week.

I hike an hour a day. Sometimes I am dragging and I need inspiration- "this is going to save your life" runs through my head. Strenous walking is a very good exercise!

I am another walker -- but I am only up to a mile or two five days a week.

--Margerie I am going to use your suggestion of repeating "This is going to save your life" while I am walking. Thank you.
--Karen. Wow. 30 miles a week. That's wonderful.

I usually walk outside, but I also have walking DVDs that I use when the weather is bad or when I've had a rough day at work and want to stay in. My poor brain can't remember who does the DVDs, but I really like them.
