anyone ever have this

So I've been on weekly Navelbine/Herceptin for 6 months and have found it to be an easy combination. All in all I still find it easy. But since treatment last thursday I have been really tired and muscle crampy and I feel like my whole right side is heavier and painful (nothing I can't tolerate). I guess my question is can you just be going along fine on a treatment and then out of nowhere have different side effects or more intense ones ? Or am I starting to have complete organ failure and its all over?

I just had all those scans so I feel like we know what is what and where. The only time I've had liver pain from tumors was when one was really big over 4 years ago and when one that was close to the edge began growing about 2 years ago.

Also, can benign scarring show up hot on a PET/CT? And is it possible to have lung mets that never change no matter what treatments you are doing or is it possible that they are something else?

Just things I'm worried and curious about. Thank you.

Joy - regarding your lung queston, I know when they went in for my pleurodesis, they took a sample of a spot on my lung that proved to be scar tissue from histoplasmosis, which is common in our part of the country to show up in peoples lungs. My husband had one show up in his lungs years ago and it is always there, but is nothing to worry about. Could it be possible that is what yours could be? I don't have a medical background so I don't know if they show on CT scans or not.

Hi Joy,
Although Navelbine is an easier chemo to handle for most people it's effects are cumulative. I was on it from last March to December. By the summer I began feeling some nausea that I did not have in the beginning. I was also tired and somewhat achey. Neverltheless, I was able to go on with my normal activities.
Best wishes,
Barbara H.

Joy

I do know that a person can have calcifications, nodules and granulomas in the lungs that are benign....they look to see if there is ever a change, if not, they don't worry. I know when I got the report on my MRI, it said I had a venous angioma...freaked me out until I found out it has been there in every one, and this is something 10% of all people have & dont even know it. Did you have a CT, PET or PET/CT?
Scarring from old pneumonias can also show up.
Hope this helps.....
