Wondering about Joy
I haven't seen any postings or replies from Joy in quite a while and was wondering if anyone has talked to her or knows if she is okay. I have been away from this site for awhile due to tech problems I was having with getting on so maybe I have missed something. Just concerned because Joy always seemed so active on here.

She viewed on 2-16 so she is doing o.k. Glad you are back, hugs, Sandy

thanks for the concern
I'm here and okay and thank you for thinking of me. remember the puppies I posted about? Well my girls and I have had the good fortune of caring for the seven 4 week old labbies and their beautiful nursing mama as well as my sister's oldest dog at their home. My sister and her husband went to NYC for Valentine fun. I have been between her house which is 40 minutes into the canyons and mine which is in town. We spent a lot of time caring for everyone, changing bedding, doing laundry, feeding, housebreaking, snuggling, laughing and entertaining friends with dinners and puppy fun. I'm tired, but looking forward to doing it again when my sister and her husband go to Chicago for a trade show. One of our friends, a 9 year old boy, was so sad to leave the puppy he really bonded with that he sobbed last night and it took his mom 20 minutes to love him up and talk him out. It was so touching.
Puppy breath is just intoxicating and with 7 there is a lot. My girls can tell them apart and as I may have mentioned we named them a long time ago (Hawkeye, Trapper, Henry, Frank, Margaret, Col. Potter and Ginger). I'm really a cat person, but you wouldn't know by this post would you. Our poor kitties have been neglected some. I will be happy to hear the purring tonight. I have a PET/CT fusion scheduled for the 26th (next Monday). I have a regular CT on the 5th and a dr. visit on the 8th. I'm trying to just not think about it all. If things are stable I want to stay on Navelbine. If not I want to pursue localized liver treatments wiht my first choice being SIR spheres. I don't know if my insurance will pay for it as it is only approved for use in colorectal liver mets. But it is approved. My other thought is avastin. Other than this ridiculous, lingering, snarky cold, I feel fine. That is the thing to be grateful for. I will try to catch up on some posts in the next day as I have missed so much. Love to all! |
Joy, It's so good to hear from you and see that wonderful smile! I had to laugh to hear of your puppy adventures---There is nothing like puppies or kitties to cheer everything up. I've read that when things got overwhelming for Abraham Lincoln in office, he used to have a basket of kittens brought in and after watching them and playing with them for awhile he could handle the pressures of office. Maybe we should get a prescription---it would do a lot for depression of any kind! My little Basenji Keesha does it for me, and I'm sure a lot of us have pets that mean the world and keep us grounded! I actually had an article that said elderly people in England could get a prescription for a pet because studies had shown how therapuetic pets can be. Can you send us some pictures? Hugs, Tricia
