Two Years

Feb 16 marks my two year anniversary for surgery, and two years NED.

I celebrated by completing my application to work in the Reach to Recovery program thru the American Cancer Society. So many--including all of you here--have been a tremendous help to me, and I hope I can return my thanks by helping others in some way.

Although this is a life's journey, I feel that I am on the right path and am thankful to be where I am.

Congrats on reaching this milestone and I wish you continued good health. Your work with Reach for Recovery sounds rewarding and the perfect way to give back.

Congratulations on your two-year accomplishment. I just celebrated my 3-year the beginning of Feb and finished 1 year of Herceptin a month ago. Like you, I'm wanting to give back and also contacted American Cancer's Reach for Recovery program. I've gone through the orientation and phone consultation so far. Next month I'm scheduled for a one-on-one phone appt. It's a great blessing to have treatment behind and a good outlook for the future.

Sassy, Big Congratulations on being two years out & NED. Awesome! I think thats great that you are going to work with Road to Recovery. I know they set me up with a bc buddy and it was very helpful when I was going through chemo. There is nothing like giving back when we can. Way to go Sassy.

Sister Rhonda...

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm SO sorry I didn't congratulate you until now (I've thought of your date several times earlier in the week), but my mom fell on Valentines day and broke her artificial knee and I've been at the hospital with her. Doesn't it feel WONDERFUL?! There WILL be many more and live each and every one with great fullness. Take care and God bless. Big huggs to you.

Good way t celebrate..

Happy NED Sassy - you are perfect for being in Reach to Recovery. You have been a good communicator all along, with both cancer patients and Dr.'s. Good luck on your new adventure....

Congrats and continued health !! I just finished year of herceptin, fingers crossed, and I became a reach volunteer 5 months ago and have counseled 4 women, two of them under 40, and it has brought so much meaning and fulfillment to my life, more than I can even describe....I am into support groups, but a lot of women need the one-on -one thing, and nobody but a breast cancer survivor can offer the true understanding to a newly diagnosed woman...God bless !!!

Dear Sassy and G. Ann,

You've both reached a huge milestone in this journey, CONGRATULATIONS! Many many more to you and all of us :)

paying it forward

Another option is working with hospice, because just going through such in-depth treatment of any kind and facing the possibility of terminal illness has already educated so many here about it.
