Suggestion of exercise for post mastec discomfort

Hi sisters,

Ever since my left side mastec sixteen months ago, the underarm gave me a sore feeling. At times the sore could be worse (like during the Arimidex time), and with good sleep the discomfort eased. Is exercise of the bad arm a good way to take care this problem? I am scared of doing that due to the possible lymphedema problem, which I don't have so far. The sore did get worse after I accidentally used the arm to pick up some heavy luggages recently. Do anyone have suggestions, such as a certain way of exercise?

I have the same problem with my right side where I had 26 nodes removed. I find that using the "Lebed Method" exercise really helps. I have a dvd of the Lebed Method and just recently signed up for a class at my local rec center. This is the first time that my rec center has offered a class in the Lebed Method. If you are interested in this you can go to www.lebedmethod.com
Hope this helps

I will have to look into this method! I have been doing exercises that a friend used when she had a "frozen shoulder". Even 18 months after surgery, I am still having trouble with my shoulders, and my 'range of motion'.

Susan,

Please do look into the Lebed Method. It is specifically for breast cancer patients and for people suffering from lymphedema. It helps with both lower and upper extremity lymphedema.
