Trying Herceptin Again Tomorrow - please pray

They have given me steriods today and tomorrow they will give me more steriods and Herceptin. Last Friday, during my 1st Herceptin infusion I had a reaction. They stopped the herceptin, give me more steriods and tried again. Again I had another reaction. I am Her2+++. I am so scared that I am not going to be about to take this medicine. I must have it. Please pray that my body will accept it tomorrow.

I hope everyone is doing well. Hugs and Smiles,
Angela

Dear Angela,

You have my prayers my dear. Please keep us posted on how you make out tomorrow.

Angela,

Are they giving you steroids? or Benedryl. The latter is preferred.

Warmest Regards
Joe

Angela,

If you haven't asked, remember to find out what they are diluting the Herceptin with - it can make a big difference. You are in my thoughts. All the best to you tomorrow.

Angela, you have my prayers. I hope your body will tolerate the Herceptin. I had Benedryl with my first loading dose and all went well. Hoping to hear that all went well for you too this time. Good luck.

Angela, I had Benedryl with my herceptin from day one...and here I sit ten months later and I STILL get benedryl. When I first started with my loading dose I was fine but about 3 weeks later ran into some problems. Had some wheezing & other things...they felt it was herceptin. They never really figured out if it was herceptin for sure, but to be on the safe side I continue using it. So like Joe mentioned...make sure you request it if they aren't giving it to you. It makes me sleepy but its worth it so I can continue on with no problems.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there. We are pulling for you.

Prayers abound

You are in my prayers! Take heart - Lisa also had issues with her loading dose of Herceptin - without going into details - she ended up in ICU at the hospital because of these ractions - BUT - she was able to overcome these issues and receive Hercptin weekly for the last three years.

They started her with Benadryl and gradually lessened it and eventually (at her request) stopped all Benedryl associated with her Herceptin infusion. I am confident hat you will be able to recieve Herceptin and I will pray for your Onc and Onc nurses to have divine insight!

Love and Light
Mel
