Anyone on Xeloda+Herceptin?
 

A few members of this forum have reported good response to Xeloda+Herceptin plus a third chemo such as Vinorelbine or Taxotere.

I found 2 anecdotic case reports of good response with only Xeloda & Herceptin:

If the Xeloda+Herceptin combo is active in a good percentage of patients it might offer a treatment with generally moderate side effects & be used as a temporary alternative while waiting for Xeloda+Tykerb.

With this in mind has anyone taken the Xeloda+Herceptin combo, for what condition & with what results?

Anyone aware of past clinical trials of this combo?

I had Xeloda, Herceptin and Taxotere for 4 months, I had 2 small lung mets which were gone pretty quickly. I have been NED for 8 months..sherryg683

I am on Herceptin and Xeloda - started one month ago: weekly H and two weeks on, one week off for the X. In Spring of 2002 had four rounds of AC. After the metastasis in July 2004, started on Herceptin and Navelbine and continued until last month (with a six-month period from March - September 2005 of Herceptin only and 30 days of rads to my sternum). More recently, the H/N was not responding, therefore the change to H/X. Currently have mets in lungs - waiting to see if the H/X will help.

I am currently on Herceptin and Xeloda, have been for 9 months. At first I received a complete response when the Xeloda was added, but it was short lived....the neck nodes returned with a vengence and are not responding as well now....may be changing to Abraxane with Herceptin.

I hope that the Xeloda+Herceptin combo will continue to work for you Sherry & Karen and that Sheila you will soon get your new treatment.
When Tykerb is finally approved early next year I hope that everyone will a chance to try the Xeloda+Herceptin+Tykerb combo which in theory should have a high response rate.

I was in a clinical trial that gave FEC100 +herceptin (4 rounds) followed by Xeloda + taxotere + herceptin (4 rounds) in a neoadjuvant setting. When I had my masectomy, there was no evidence of cancer although there were clear evidence that cancer had been there and in the 9 nodes removed....A year later I am still NED and finished with the year of herceptin. So, at least for me, the combinations did a great job.

Currently on xeloda herceptin with navelbine in clinical trial--so far, partial remission more tests this week. Ceesun
