Encouraging news

Hi everyone

Just had my first post-op mammogram and ultrasound - NED!

Was worried because I am weakly HER2+, and had neither chemo nor herceptin. Not out of the woods yet, but it's a step in the right direction.

Have read that if HER2+ cancers are going to come back, they generally do so within the first two years. Is this correct?

Well done Mcgle! We have met on the other forum where you were good enough to answer my questions. I also had heard this and being in the same position as you (except grade 3) it would be good to have more info.
Very best wishes
Ros

Yay!

Congrats on good news! I've read the 2 year mark as well, and that each year passed after that is a step away from risk of recurrance. I wonder about the statistics involved in that statement. Seems likely enough.

Hi!!
Congratulations! Every year out is good news. Nevertheless, I did recur 6 years later. We can never let our guard down.
Good luck,
Barbara H.
