Just sharing my day!
I went to a huge craft fair today. I was looking at some jewelry and listening to a few women talking about their problems and as it was crowded I left. I decided to go back again and was talking to the vendor lady. She was very open with me and after a brief conversation she said this was a bad day for her. Not only did she not feel well, she said she usually makes x# of dollars in a day but today she had not made even a quarter of that. She said she had fibromyalgia and I told her I did along with cancer she said, "and you are here walking around?" When I was leaving I gave her a hug. She told me I made her day with my smile and hug. It was strange because my Pastor had just preached on always have a smile on your face it can help many people and you may never know it. Just had to share this. It made my day to think I helped someone. hugs, Sandy

This is why when I talk to people that are having a bad day...
I ask, can it be worse and then I'm told, yes it can, to which I reply, so it's really not that bad...Take care and God bless.

Sometimes it's hard to enjoy life. I think the a great gift from God is to be grateful for what you have. I used to think if I was grateful, I might not get anymore!
At my lowest point during adriamycin last year, I got on Dr Bernie Siegel's website and just dumped all my fear and anger. Dr Siegel answered and told me to repeat over and over "I am grateful for all that I have. I have everything I need. I don't need a thing." I thought he was absolutely nuts. But I had nothing to lose, so I did it anyway. Eventually, it helped me a lot. I realized that the "everything I need" wasn't material. I have everything I need inside me to help myself. I've been pretty discontented for much of my life. I wish I could say that was gone forever, but now that I'm recovering from BC, the discontents are sneaking back. So I try to repeat that mantra as often as I remember. |
Thanks for the story Sandy, it made my day too!!!

A very inspiring and uplifting true story. You are a kind soul and truly understand the meaning of empathy.

Sandy, isn't it wonderful -
to have someone tell you that you made their day?
You gave that lady hope by just showing her that you are enjoying your life and that YOU ARE STILL WALKING AROUND... she now knows that she also has a chance. I think this is our purpose now..... I have been told that I am a teacher now and giving people hope that you can live on even with cancer. I have to say that I get a very warm and satifying feeling from hearing that even with what we have to go through. Keep passing around that lovely warm smile of yours and feel well. Take care Sandy |

Gratitude is the perfect antidote to all things dark~ Thanks for sharing such a great story... |
What a wonderful story. It's so interesting how so much good can come from bad circumstances.
I just love to hear uplifting stories like this. Have a great day. Celeste |
Wonderful to share. I saw a lady today stage 4 lobular bc and we started to talk. and all of a sudden we were sisters.
she looked radiant, even without hair and wearing pink and pink key chain etc etc. love it MCS ( maria) |
Your doc is brilliant. When I meet someone, rather than shake their hand, I always hug them, saying, "Life's too short for a handshake!" That doesn't make ME brilliant, just on the same page as your doc.
Love and light, Lisa |
