the continuing madubois63 story 11-8-06
Hello All - I am at day 5 after the transplant. So far so good! I have minor problems but mostly feel pretty good. My counts are REALLY low. I have been walking around the nurses station, doing hand exercises and just trying to pass the days. I MAY be able to leave the hospital next week, but I'll have to stay in the Kevin Guest House nearby the hospital for a bit. It has a private apartment for transplant patients, and I spend 5 hours a day in the clinic. So far no fevers (really good) and I really have to be careful not to get any infections. I am no longer blood type B+ but as is my donor I am A+ (weird). I don't know if I am allergic to anything (if she is then I will be), and I will need all new immunizations like a baby...You all continue to be in my prayers and I thank you all for the prayers, cards e-mails and telephone calls!!! Love to you all - Maryann

MaryAnn -
Thanks for the great update. It is wonderful that you used a little bit of your precious energy to make contact here. You know there are scores of us here thinking of you in every good way possible. NO fever! That is an excellent sign. Who cares what blood type we are - just so we HAVE blood and it is healthy. Please let us know how you are from time to time so we won't worry that you have hit one of those speed bumps and are slowed down for some reason. You are blessed, young lady! |

MaryAnn,
Thank you for the update. You are an amazing soul. We are all pulling for you and so happy to hear any updates when you have the strength. Love and peace, Carolyn |
Great
Great to hear you are doing OK so far Maryann. The transferrance of the donor's allergy profile is almost comical. Let's just hope she wasn't allergic to Godiva chocolate, or potato chips. That would be a real setback in my book...lol
Best Wishes, Tom |
