Port Irritation

I received my port when I had my partial masectomy in April. I have not had any problems with it until earlier today. I found a blister underneath my port. Has anyone ever had any problems like that with their port area. I tried to do a search, but did not get any results. Anyone else had this problem?

Vanassa: You need to call your oncologist ASAP. If you have an infection this is very dangerous. The port may need to come out. This is what I was told when I got mine. Anything that does not look or feel right call right away. I know when I have a question with mine they take me seriously. I have been in getting chemo and have seen patients rushed upstairs to get their port out because it was red and inflamed. I hope this is not the case with you but its better to be safe and then sorry later. Keep us posted. hugs, Sandy

Thank you Sandy. I did take your advice and called my oncologist today. She told me since it is not red or inflamed to keep an eye on it. She also said that if it does become red or inflamed to come in and let her take a look at it. So far it looks the same. Thanks again for your quick response.
