Tamoxifen and Nausea

Hello,
I'm new to this website. I've been taking Tamoxifen for about a month and have been experiencing nausea (the same feeling when I was on my chemo trmts). Has anyone else experienced this with Tamoxifen and if so, any advice on how to make it go away. Thank you!

Hi Betty

I have been on tamoxifen for 18 months and suffer from nausea. For a lot of people it settles down after the first few months - you will probably find that it does.

I have found that it is very important not to miss a meal - this seems to make it worse. Even if I am not hungry I make sure I have something small during the day. I always carry around plain biscuits in case I am out and start to feel nauseous.

I did switch from "cheap" brand of Tamoxifen to the Brand Name Nolvadex-D - this helped the nausea but my stomach swelled up and I looked 7 months pregnant. Switched back as I felt "horrible".

Hope this is of some help.

Love

bjj xx

Hi Bjj,
Thanks for your post! You're absolutely right, it helps so much to have snacks. I have a bag of crackers everywhere I go just in case. Hopefully this is pass soon! Thanks for the advice and good luck to you too!

God Bless, Betty
