Joe & Christine... you should know...

Hi there!

One of the ladies at the front desk of my childrens' school was dx'd with HER2+ breast cancer a few weeks ago. She had overheard me talking about this website several times prior to her ever having a suspicion of breast cancer. Fortunately for her, she is armed with the right questions and support from a website that provides the knowledge of some of the most experienced breast cancer survivors and latest up to date information that we half the time did not know we needed.

Anyway, I know you both know this website is a huge wonderful resource for women in our position. If not for this site, I would not have had the knowledge to ask for Herceptin. I would not have pursued certain diagnostic tests, which I know have saved my life...

I know you get this all the time, but I really want to thank you both for doing what you do for all of us.

Warmly,

Maria (MTS)

Ditto

I have to second what Maria said in her post. When I read it I remembered the unbridled fear I felt when I read the basic survival statistics on HER2+ BC when Mom was first diagnosed with that cell type. I was beside myself with grief, until I found this site. Overnight, I was calmed and reassured that there was indeed a way to fight this stuff, and I was finally able to gather my wits about me. Only then was I able to construct a plan of action for Mom's treatment. And when things started going South, I again found the facts I needed to mount a new offensive. Words will never be able to convey how greatful I am to have this website. It has been a source of facts as well as garden of tranquility for those times I have been overwhelmed by it all. Thank you Christine and Joe from the bottom of my heart, anmd also to all of the wonderful members whom have been there when the abyss seemed to loom in front of me and Mom.

P.S. I received Mom's application packet for the Tykerb EAP today, and will be plowing through it later tonight.
Sincerely,
Tom

Absolutely

When I was first dx. I was told I had nothing to worry about...my cancer
was caught early - thank God I found this site and Christine you are a life
saver (really a true angel). The informatioin I gathered here assisted me
to have further tests and reach further out and seek Dr. Slamon and he said I more than likely saved my own life.

So how does one say Thank you for that? I pray for you each day that God keeps you safe - along with the rest of us, thats how I do it.

Gratefully,
Jean
