Hot Head

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this...even when I am not wearing a wig or a hat or scarf, my head gets profusely hot and sweats periodically throughout the day and night, even when I am sleeping, (it wakes me up). It doesn't feel like a hot flash, I have had those in the past and this feels different. My hot flashes were more like a rush of heat that would start at chest level and work it's way up to my head. This is mainly at the level of my head. Just wondering if this is a side effect of the chemo perhaps. Gotta love all these quirky things that go along with this! Oh boy, and if I have a wig on because we are going somewhere special, like the wedding last week and this weekend coming up, it is really uncomfortable and I sweat terribly. Last week I kept going in the bathroom at the hotel and stuffing tissues under my wig to absorb the sweat. Such fun!

I have the same problem and just thought it was me. My head sweats all the time -- I don't have to be outside in the heat, I can be sitting in the air conditioned house. I hate to say it, but the sweat just seems to roll off my head. I finished chemo in May and now I'm only on Herceptin. My hair is growing back (about an inch) now but even before it began growing my head started to sweat. I too went through the hot flash period, or as I liked to call it "power surge period" and this is definitely not hot flashes. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

My last chemo was July 20 and so far no hair growth. Like you, I can be in a very cold room and the sweat still just rolls off my head. It isn't all the time but it sure happens enough that it is uncomfortable and annoying. Do you think the chemicals from chemo could be doing it? My head gets so hot sometimes.

Not sure what's doing it, but it is definitely happening. I've just been trying to live with it. Actually, it's worse than hot flashes!

I agree that it is worse than hot flashes and it is definitely more uncomfortable and lasts longer!
