If you're being treated for breast cancer and seem to have more memory lapses or trouble concentrating than you did before diagnosis, you're probably not imagining it. Breast cancer treatment can have an impact on clear memory and concentration, or "cognitive function."

During and after breast cancer treatment, a wide variety of factors can affect cognitive function: emotional stress, the effects of chemotherapy on clear thinking (sometimes called "chemo brain"), whether you've been through menopause, and more. Breast cancer and treatment-related thinking challenges are not usually permanent, but they can be frustrating when they do happen.
