Time frame from chemo to Rads?
I know each bc case is different...but what is the usual time frame after chemo to start Rads? I have heard two weeks to six weeks. Is that to give your body time to recover from the chemo?

I had 2 weeks off after chemo before radiation. I had 30 sessions chest wall. No problem at all. It was a breeze after chemo. I hope you have an "easy" time of it too!! - kim

My last chemo was January 31 (05) and my first rad was Feb 21 (05) - I guess that's about 3 weeks.

For me it was 3 weeks
in between chemo and rads (had a total of 33, including 5 boosts). Finished chemo on 5/18/05 and finished rads on 8/1/05.

So it seems to be 2 to 3 weeks for most of you. I can't wait to be done with all this. Although I must admit I am dreading this EVERY DAY ordeal of going to rads for 6 weeks. Only weekends off. I am exhausted just thinking about it. lol
Has anyone here had a modified radical mastectomy? If so...I was wondering if you had a mastectomy...does that mean they DON'T have to radiate the chest wall? And would most likely just do rads undernearth where lymph nodes are and up my the clavical? I am hoping to avoid my chest wall since I had the Modified radical mastectomy...I had really clean margins. :) But maybe that doesn't make any difference. (I can dream, right.) Does anyone have any ideas? Chelee |
