Confused with results???
 

Hi. I am so confused about all these tests. I just finished chemo (4 AC/12 Taxol/Herceptin/now on Herceptin every three weeks). I am having all the regular tests to get an update on where I am. My bone scan had a few "uptakes." Two are spoken for (some previous bumps and bruises), but there was an "uptake" in my skull. My onc isn't concerned, but should I be?

My pelvis & abdomen CT scans were clear. My lung scan still had three little spots, but they were all smaller than the original scan in December. In my original diagnosis I had these three little spots. We did a PET scan, two didn't light up at all and the third was just fuzzy so they were inconclusive. I am having a PET scan tomorrow to see if they light up at all. I am so confused about all these results.

Will the PET scan reveal anything in the skull? Can anyone help???

I will never understand why some oncs will ignore some of scariest test results and instead ask you about your appetite. It may be nothing BUT, demand that brain MRI! Obviously the alarms in your head started going off or you wouldn't have posted. Trust your instincts, it may be nothing but let's rule out everything else, and you'll be able to sleep at night.
By the way, did he translate that report for you or did you read it yourself? The real expert is the doctor who wrote the report.

Thank you so much Al. I did have a brain MRI and it came out clear! If I had something in my skull, would it have come out in my MRI? That is what I am concerned about. I am having a PET scan today as well!
