Kidney Hydronephrosis (or Retroperitoneal Fibrosis)

I am interested in finding other survivors who have been on Herceptin and Navelbine who have had kidney blockages. I have a fibrous tissue growing near the kidneys. My urologist has inserted internal stents. No one knows the cause. It could be the chemo drugs. Is there anyone out there with this problem?

I just found this forum. I also had hydronephrosis and have a stent. The urologist said it was probably due to scar tissue, so I am taking that to mean retroperitoneal fibrosis. I had five retroperitoneal lymph node tumors that are now burned out. I did find an English website that stated the retroperitoneal fibrosis could be caused by chemotherapy and would go away after the end of chemotherapy. I still have tumors so I remain on Gemzar. Did anything work for you?

Kidney Hyronephrosis

ECB,
I am presently on Carboplatin, Herceptin, and Abraxane for advanced breast cancer. The blockage has definitely been identified as adenocarinoma because lesions showed up on the bladder, and my urologist was able to send a specimen to pathology.

I am doing well with two internal stents and weekly chemo treatments. It is unusual for breast cancer to settle around the ureters, which is why YOU are the only one to respond.

I have been a breast cancer survivor since 1983 so I feel most fortunate to be around and feeling well. Good luck to you!
Maggie
